Significant Objects: The Things That Matter 11 May until 20 October 2024

Stephen Faber and Aneurin Sanders, Naturual Moon 2024

Explore Significant Objects, our latest exhibition in Room 6 this spring.

Drawing inspiration from the main exhibition’s focus on still life, artists from our Community Programme have created artworks that highlight the importance of objects in our lives. Some pieces tell stories about shared experiences with these objects, while others provide personal and intimate reflections on the value we place on them. The selection process has ignited conversations among the artists, exploring the reasons behind what we choose to keep and what inspires us.

As you step into the exhibition, you will find labels written by the artists themselves, explaining the reasons and thoughts behind their chosen objects. These labels give a unique insight into the creative minds of our talented artists.

Eduardo Paolozzo's "Artificial Sun" sculpture serves as our chosen muse, igniting divergent reactions within us. Stephen finds himself entranced by its dynamic motion, while Aneurin's senses are whisked back to the harsh lines of 1970s Brutalist design, a style he's less enamored with. Nevertheless, amidst these contrasting perspectives, this collaboration stands as our maiden voyage as Partners in Art, a thrilling journey of shared exploration and creative fusion.
